Context and situation

A family member in the United States contacted our emergency line following the passing of a direct relative in Maracaibo, Zulia State, Venezuela. Having handled a similar case before, the family activated coordination immediately.

Eternimax coordinated the funeral service together with the local funeral home, staying in direct and constant contact with the affiliated member and a family reference in-country, who accompanied and validated every step of the process.

During coordination, the family decided to change the service from cremation to interment, recalling that they already owned a plot at the local cemetery. The change was resolved immediately with the funeral home, with no additional delays.

02

How we coordinated it

We applied our six-stage coordination protocol: active listening, information gathering, internal coordination and activation of the local provider, constant contact with the affiliated member and their in-country reference, follow-through until the service was complete, and post-service follow-up.

We coordinated with a funeral home licensed for both interment and cremation, capable of managing the required documentation and liaising with the relevant local authorities (civil registry and cemetery).

Outcome and takeaway

The service was completed in two days, within the usual timeframe for this type of coordination, with no setbacks. The remains were interred at the local cemetery in line with the family's final decision.

As part of our post-service follow-up, Eternimax offers families a tribute video in memory of their loved one, with photos and dedicated words, delivered after an appropriate period of mourning.

This case reinforces the value of keeping the protocol active from start to finish: active listening, flexibility with last-minute changes, and follow-up to understand the family's experience.

Terms, conditions, and service availability apply according to the selected membership plan. This case is presented anonymously to protect the family's privacy.
