International Repatriation Coordination

One coordination point between your family and the professionals responsible for the repatriation.

When international repatriation is required, Eternimax serves as your family's coordination point with the independent licensed or otherwise authorized providers responsible for the case.

Hands over a map of the world

One point of contact

The providers

The applicable providers determine the professional, documentation, regulatory, transportation and operational requirements within their scope and perform the applicable services.

Eternimax

We communicate provider requests to your family, help you supply the requested information and documents, relay information between the parties, follow up on case progress and keep you informed.

How it works

Six steps. Clear roles in each one.

The provider determines the requirements. We make sure your family understands each request and that it reaches the right party.

  1. 01

    The family contacts Eternimax

We gather the initial case information needed to understand the family's situation and begin identifying the appropriate provider resources.

  2. 02

    The appropriate provider is engaged

The case is connected with an independent provider appropriately licensed, certified or otherwise authorized for the required services in the applicable jurisdiction.

  3. 03

    The provider determines requirements

The responsible provider determines the documents, authorizations, preparation, transportation and other professional or operational requirements that apply to its portion of the case.

The applicable providers perform their respective professional, operational and regulated services.

  6. 06

    Eternimax follows the case

We follow up with the parties involved, relay relevant updates and remain the family's coordination point through completion of the case.

Along the way

Who handles each part of the process.

International transportation

Transportation and flight arrangements are handled by the applicable providers responsible for those portions of the case. Eternimax follows the case and communicates relevant updates to your family.

Provider-requested information & documentation

The applicable provider determines the information and documentation required for the services it performs. When information or documents are required from your family, Eternimax communicates the request, helps you supply the requested items and relays them to the appropriate provider.

Consulates & authorities

Applicable governmental and consular requirements are determined and handled by the responsible providers and authorities according to the requirements of the case. When family information or documentation is requested, Eternimax helps facilitate communication between the parties.

Arrival & receiving

Arrival, clearance, receiving and transportation requirements are handled by the applicable providers and authorities responsible for those portions of the case. Eternimax follows the case and communicates relevant updates as needed.

Cremated remains

When a family requires assistance with the international return of cremated remains, Eternimax serves as the coordination point between the family and the applicable independent providers. The responsible providers determine transportation, documentation and other applicable requirements. Eternimax communicates provider requests, helps obtain the requested information from the family, relays information between the parties and follows the case through completion.

An example

The provider tells us: “We need a copy of the deceased's passport, next-of-kin information and this signed form.” We explain the request to your family, help you gather the items and deliver them to the provider. Then we follow up and keep you informed.

Costs

Transparent cost communication.

Known and estimated costs are communicated based on the information available for the case. If provider, airline, governmental or other third-party requirements materially affect costs, the family is informed before additional services are authorized whenever reasonably possible.

One quote, one point of contact

Your Eternimax quote shows our coordination fee and, as a separate amount, the third-party costs of your case, such as the services of the independent providers. Once you authorize it, we pay those providers on your behalf: you don't pay them separately, and you deal with a single point of contact.

  • Our coordination fee and the third-party costs appear separately in your quote, before you authorize anything.
  • If a requirement changes the cost, we tell you before additional services are authorized, whenever reasonably possible.

FAQ

Questions families ask

Informational content. Requirements vary by country and case and are determined by the responsible providers and authorities.

Who handles the flight?

Transportation and flight arrangements are handled by the applicable providers responsible for those portions of the case — not by Eternimax. We follow the case and keep your family updated.

Who decides which documents are needed?

The provider responsible for each service determines the documents and authorizations it needs. We explain those requests to your family, help you supply them and relay them to the provider.

Can you help if the death occurred outside the United States?

Yes. The coordination model is the same wherever the death occurred: the family decides, the responsible providers perform, and Eternimax coordinates between the parties. Provider availability and requirements vary by country.
